How much can you take?

REVISED!

Psalm 34:19 (KJV) 19 Many are the afflictions of the righteous: but the LORD delivereth him out of them all. The article starts out with a scripture that is the essence of this article. I start with the scripture to let everyone know that deliverance is not an issue if you truly trust the Lord. The scripture says in Proverbs 3:5 (KJV) 5 Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. How many of us trust in the Lord with all our heart? If we are honest with ourselves, we know if we trust like Jacob or Moses! I believe our trust must be rock solid in the Lord and no other voice or situation can cause doubt. A solid commitment in the Lord I believe guarantees success in whatever the test, trial, or tribulation.

The scripture starts out with a numerical descriptor – Many. I asked myself how many is “many” to discover that is more than one and less than a number I do not know. Who can say they will do many things when they do not know if they have the strength or time? Who have you encountered that promised they would do many tasks for you or love you many years; those uses of many sounds rather suspicious and unbelievable? Yet when the God puts it in the Bible it occurred 556 times, used by God to be the first word in the verse more than twenty-five times. I believe God wants us to know that no matter how many times we get in trouble he will be there to deliver us.

Affliction has many words and situations that it represents such as: Persecution, Suffering, Grieve, Distress, Trouble, Hardship, Family Relationships and more. What is your affliction? All families and individuals deal with afflictions at some point in life because God said in His word that he rains on the just and the unjust. He did not say ethnic group or a specific color, but on the just and the unjust. The statement in Matthew 5 speaks to the whole of humanity. No one that is human avoids affliction and the scripture pinpoints it even more so does the child of God: 2 Timothy 3:12 (KJV) 12 Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution. Notice it says “all” that will live godly. This scripture tells me that if you are not suffering persecution/affliction you may not be living godly! Can this be true of you?

I personally believe that how you act or behave while suffering affliction really determines your character. Observing many over the last 70 years suffer all kinds of affliction gives me to wonder who really believes the Lord or even know this scripture is in the Bible: Psalm 34:19 (KJV) 19 Many are the afflictions of the righteous: but the LORD delivereth him out of them all. God the said it this way in the New Testament: Hebrews 13:5 (NKJV) 5 Let your conduct be without covetousness; be content with such things as you have. For He Himself has said, "I will never leave you nor forsake you." We have two scriptures in the Bible that give us to understand that no matter what our situation God will be with us even unto the end. What greater comfort can we find than the above two scriptures?

When going through a test, trial, tribulation, or temptation if we maintain our hope and trust in the Lord according to His word, we will come out victorious. It may not be the timing we want or the way we want, but if the Lord gets all the glory and honor for bringing us out that is all that matters. He said it, we should simply believe it, and make sure our flesh submits to His will and His word. God says it this way: Numbers 23:19 (KJV) 19 God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent: hath he said, and shall he not do it? or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good? Otherwise what it is saying that we can take it to bank – period.

No matter how much pain we are suffering or experiencing loss we can come to God with our trouble and He will bring us out. Even if it is depression/stress or suicidal thoughts God will deliver us through His Word. That is why He created the concept of Prophetic Counseling so that you would have an avenue to take your challenge/problem to for comfort and deliverance.
